Muse Hack 3

What is Muse Hack?

Hacking is all about a playful, experimental approach to life – and this digital making and media arts club for children and young people certainly does that.

Hacking is all about a playful, experimental approach to life – and this digital making and media arts club for children and young people certainly does that. Muse Hack provides hands on practical workshops and the opportunity to work with professional artists and digital makers in our very own MakerSpace at York Explore. Here club members play explore, create, tinker, design, learn some code using digital maker tools, circuits, technology, arts and crafts. Their current project - “9-Bit recycling digital noise orchestra" has sparked their imaginations to dream up DIY interactive musical instruments, soundscapes and compositions. These eight-week digital making and media arts clubs are led by digi-maker and sound artist Paul Fothergill and are recognised by York UNESCO city of media arts Digital Adventurers scheme to encourage and support children and young people in their creative and cultural pursuits and future careers in the sector.

I loved making my own music machine as I used my creativity to create my unique design and then implemented the skills I learnt over the previous weeks. It was an amazing experience
